Help my friend (and director) Cameron by giving him all your money.

Hey guys, there’s this new thing out called kickstarter, and everyone and their mother wants a piece of it.

Basically it goes like this: someone gets a GREAT idea (http://bit.ly/93wbsE) OR someone gets a TERRIBLE idea (http://bit.ly/bLSRIO) and they go onto this website called kickstarter and put up a profile begging for money for their budget. People have 85 days to donate a portion of the budget by signing up to the website, giving it their credit card info and totally forgetting about it until 85 days later when it voids their bank account. The person who signed up to kickstarter to get funds either gets humbled and their project doesn’t make near their budget, or the project makes their budget back plus even more money, and that person has the freedom to gloat about their “grassroots project” like a pompous jackass.

Either way, it’s an interesting idea - especially for independent cinema, where less and less money is needed to make something look totally professional. And I don’t know if you can write this off on your taxes, but it’s worth a shot…right?

Anyway, the bottom line is, the more publicity you have for your kickstarter project, the more chances you have to get the money you need to have the freedom to gloat like a pompous jackass about how great you are, and how people really BELIEVED in you.

Here’s where you come in. You need to give Cameron Beyl all of your credit card information.

He has a kickstarter and is trying to make a feature film without a SCRIPT OR A TITLE! So subversive. Anyway, read his bio and see if it’s something you’re interested in.

Plus, by giving people your money, you DO get some superficial bullshit in return that you don’t care about to make the kickstarter profile owner feel less badly about taking your money. This is usually the case for every kickstarter project…I don’t blame people for doing this - I think kickstarter forces you to do it. Anyway, the more money you donate, the more props you get, so donate A LOT.

In other news, I’ll probably start a kickstarter soon - haha. Just wait.

DONATE.
